Council Election: Ogun APC Seeks Reconciliation Among Aggrieved Members

- By Azeez Olorunlomeru

THE Publicity Secretary, Ogun State Chapter of All Progressives Congress ( APC), Tunde Oladunjoye, yesterday, said Ogun State government would not, for any reason, abdicate its constitutional mandate in ensuring security of its citizens’ lives and property.

Oladunjoye spoke against the backdrop of some aggrieved members, who raised the alarm over imposition of candidates and forgery allegations against others, in the forthcoming local council election in the state.

He said the party operated a bottom- up approach, where people at the grassroots chose their candidates through primaries, adding that the party had directed that there should be reconciliation at all levels.

Oladunjoye said the party had taken upon itself to persuade aggrieved members to support those who emerged as party candidates.

He said: “We must bear in mind that only one person can occupy the seat at a time. Those who did not get the slots could get appointments or be elected in the future.”
