Your Family’s Salvation Depends On You, Onoraro Tells Warri Knights
THE Chaplain, Council of Knights of the Diocese of Warri, The Ven. Michael Onoraro, has reminded the knights and ladies that they are accountable for the salvation of their family members. Onoraro, who led the Council to a two- day- retreat, themed: “Soldier of Christ: Run with the Vision,” taken from Habk 2: 2 at Ibru Centre Agbarha- otor from July 8- 10, 2021, urged them to foresee a better state and prepare for it today. Citing Noah as an example, he noted that the responsibility of building the ark for the salvation of their children in this perilous time is on them.
Pointing out that Noah, because he had a vision, was righteous, even in a generation as corrupt, if worse than the present generation, Onoraro said: “You are the Saviour of your family. Whatever you do today is a seed and your family will reap from it. To a large extent, the salvation of your family depends on you.
Therefore, you’re not free to live anyhow you want. A man who lives for today, is a man whose history has been wiped out since yesterday.”
He added that Noah and his family were spared because of his preparation, while others perished.
“If you have been failing before, please fail no more, I plead with you in the name of God. We must do something now as never before to prepare ark for the salvation of our families,” he said.
The Guest Speaker, The Rt. Rev. Jolly Oyekpen, counselled the Warri Knights to be open and receive divine vision, as well as be prepared to be instruments in God’s hands. Oyekpen, who is also Bishop of Akoko Edo said God speaks through dreams, trance, conscience ( the still small voice), loud audible voice, prophecy ( telling the mind of God for the past, present and future), abnormal ways like animals, signs in the air, calamity, and disease.
While stressing that all these are subject to abuse and means of deception, he said: “The ultimate is the Word of God. It doesn’t change and cannot be contradicted by the other means.”
