NIS rescues four trafficked ladies in Jigawa

THenigeria­n Immigratio­n Service in Jigawa State has rescued four persons suspected to have been trafficked from different parts of the country.

State Commander of the NIS, Isma’il Abba Aliyu, disclosed this while parading the victims at the command’s headquarte­rs in Dutse.

He said officers of the command operating along Kazaure, Babura and Ringim areas, intercepte­d of four ladies en route Libya at Gurai village in the Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

Aliyu said officers also arrested an accomplice of the victims named, Mukhtari Zubairu, who is also a level 13 officer at the Babura Local Government Area Council.

“The victims were rescued at Gurai village in Jigawa/ Katsina border before onward movement to Tripoli in Libya via the Niger Republic,” he said.

He explained that all the victims are from four different states of Osun, Ogun, Lagos and Akwa Ibom.

Meanwhile, the Kebbi State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC), has arrested a 35year- old man on suspicion of defiling a five- year- old girl.

Commandant of the corps, Alhaji Umar Musa- Bala, told newsmen that the fleeing suspect was apprehende­d on July 6.
