Osun road crashes claim 16 lives

NO fewer than 16 persons have died in two separate road crashes in Osun State.

While 14 were crushed to death by a truck carrying flammable content around a power line along IpetuIjesa/ Ilesa way on Saturday evening, two persons died in a lone car accident that occurred around Niger Cat Area after Babalakin Hall, Gbongan- Osogbo highway, Gbongan on Sunday.

The crash involving 14 persons happened around 5: 40 p. m. when a truck collided with a Sienna car. Spokespers­on for the Osun Federal Road Safety Coprs ( FRSC) Command, Agnes Ogungbemi, said the victims included six children while two people survived.

The vehicles involved are Toyota Sienna with registrati­on number KRD842GY and Howo Sinotruck with registrati­on number BAU171ZE.
