Police beef up security in Borno, Yobe

THE police in Borno and Yobe states will, today, restrict vehicular movement for six hours to ensure a hitch- free Eid- el- Kabir celebratio­n in the states.

In Borno, the 6.00a. m. to noon vehicle restrictio­n involves cars, buses, trucks, tricycles, bicycles, wheelbarro­ws, camels, donkeys and horses.

Spokesman of Command, Edet Okon, stated yesterday in Maiduguri: “The Commission­er of Police ( CP), Bello Makwashi, wishes to inform residents of Maiduguri metropolis and Jere Local Council that there will be restrictio­n of vehicles up to 1200hrs on the Sallah day.”

The Yobe CP, Yahaya Abubakar, assured residents of sustained fight against criminalit­ies during and after Sallah in the state.
