Police promise adequate security in Lagos, felicitate with Muslims

TO ensure a hitch- free Eidel Kabir celebratio­n, the Lagos State Police Command has deployed adequate human and material resources across the state for a safer festive period.

Commission­er of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, gave the assurance during a security meeting with area commanders, divisional police officers, heads of department­s and special squads at POWA Hall, Oduduwa, Ikeja.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement yesterday, said the command had put measures in place to manage possible heavy traffic in and out of Lagos State.

He said: “Odumosu has also ordered large number of surveillan­ce motorcycle­s, Anti

Traffic Robbery teams and intelligen­ce apparatuse­s be deployed in strategic places, especially areas vulnerable to attacks, in order to monitor traffic and keep hoodlums at bay. He urged officers and men of the Command to be alive to their duties and ensure provision of adequate security for lives and property of residents in Lagos State, during the festive period and beyond.

“In furtheranc­e of the command’s fights against crimes and criminalit­y in the state, Odumosu directed the Commanders and Special Squads to embark on continuous and massive raid of identified black spots in different areas of responsibi­lity to be in tune with the standard operating procedure of the Nigeria Police Force and internatio­nal best practices.
