Iwuanyanwu should be celebrated for his accomplish­ments, say Uzodimma, Okorocha

IMO State Governor, Hope Uzodimma and his predecesso­r, Rochas Okorocha, yesterday, advised that elder statesman, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, should be celebrated for his accomplish­ments at 79.

Uzodimma stated this during a thanksgivi­ng service for the septuagena­rian officiated by Bishop Emmanuel Maduwike at St. Matthew’s Anglican Cathedral, Atta Ikeduru, Imo State, while Okorocha made his position known in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo.

Uzodimma stressed that the businessma­n, who recently announced his exit from active politics, had invested in human capital developmen­t, noting that Imo State and Nigeria was lucky to have him.

“Iwuanyanwu is an accomplish­ed man, a leader, a politician, successful businessma­n, a traditiona­list and a kind and generous man. Imo people and Nigerians are grateful to God for his life because he is a man who represents success in every aspect of life, hence the need to honour him,” he said.

The governor, who added that all the people Iwuanyanwu trained were successful like him, said urged Imo people and Nigerians to pray for Iwuanyanwu to make him feel good by celebratin­g his successes.

“Nobody celebrates himself and Iwuanyanwu cannot ask anyone to celebrate him. He is one of Imo’s best. He should be celebrated for his good and accomplish­ed life. We pray God to give him the strength to continue to be with us, so that the support and services he rendered to humanity will continue to endure,” he stated.
