PDP chiefs reject Anyanwu as party scribe

- From Azimazi Momoh Jimoh, Abuja

SOME chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) in the South East have rejected Senator Sam- Daddy Anyanwu as the consensus candidate for the party’s secretary in the zone

According to a statement, yesterday, by a National ExOfficio from Imo State, Chief Madu Chinemerem, former governors of Anambra and Imo, Peter Obi, Achike Udenwa and Emeka Ihedioha, among others, said what transpired at the PDP meeting on Thursday, October 14, 2021 in Enugu could best be described as a stalemate.

The meeting, according to them, didn’t elect Anyanwu to represent the South East as PDP National Secretary, but that Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and his Abia counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu, merely came to the meeting and announced the selection of Anyanwu.

Most of the people, who attended the meeting, according to the PDP chieftains, vehemently objected to it and refused to accept it.
