Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has felicitated with Muslim faithful on this year’s commemoration of Eid- el- Maulud, calling on Nigerians to renew their faith in God and intensify prayers for the country to surmount its challenges.

In his goodwill message yesterday, the governor urged the citizenry to remain committed to the core values of the nation’s founding fathers geared at sustaining peace, unity and progress of the country.

He pointed out that the significance of the celebration anchored on love, sacrifice, obedience, tolerance and charity, as exemplified by the deeds and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, was germane to the peaceful coexistence, unity and prosperity of Nigeria.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Oguwike Nwachuku, urged Muslim adherents to use the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday to deepen love, patience and perseverance.

He said no time in the history of Nigeria were “love, peace, unity and respect for our diversity needed more than now.”
