Season Of Testimonies At Lord’s Chosen Mgbidi Crusade 2022

• Fraudster Repents, Returns Over N4m To Victim

- Bychris Irekamba

FOR the past 15 years, the Mgbidi Crusade of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has always held in Mgbidi, Oru West Local Council of Imo State. The yearly event holds every first week of January and attracts worshippers from different parts of the eastern region and the country, as well as faithful abroad. The crusade ground serves as Jerusalem for people who come for spiritual rejuvenation or those seeking one form of miracle or the other and a good number of them have never been disappointed. With high profile Nigerians, including politicians, Nollywood artistes, captains of industry gracing it each year, Mgbidi Crusade has come to serve as a religious tourism, as worshippers from overseas are seen in their numbers with their children. Ironically, this year’s Mgbidi Crusade train moved form Imo State to to the headquarters of the church in Ijesha, Lagos. Tagged: “Lagos Experience,” the main topic was: “What God Has Determined Shall Be Done.” Explaining the move, the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Lazarus Muoka in a chat with The Guardian said: “We are led to have this programme in Lagos and God

must have a reason for it. We can only obey God as He leads us.” Started in 2007, Mgbidi Crusade either holding in Imo or Lagos has touched many lives, as evidenced by the testimonies that trail its way. For instance, in the just concluded programme, a Nigerian, Brother Samson Obinali after listening to the messages from the General Overseer returned the over N4 million he fraudulently got through internet fraud to

the owner. Obinali who lives in Shomolu, Lagos, said: “I am into internet fraud even though I profess to be a Christian and attend church services. One day, I met a white man online and through dubious way obtained N4.5 million from him. I kept the money and still come to church as if nothing wrong has happened. However, the General Overseer ministered in one of the Thursday services and said: ‘ if you have money that is not genuinely yours, give it back to the owner and God will bless you.’ The General Overseer persistently preached this message to the extent that I was disturbed in my spirit; so, I had to return the N4.5 million to the white man. According to Obinali, the white man was surprised that a Nigerian could return such huge sum of money despite the country’s harsh economy. So, he demanded to know more about me and I told him, “I attend The

Lord’s Chosen Church, and that I have genuinely given my life to Jesus Christ. And that the word of God we hear reprimand us for taking other people’s property. And it is based on this that I am returning your money.” According to Obinali, they had a face- to- face video chat that made the man to follow the church online and later became a member. “Surprisingly, he gave the church a place of worship in his compound in California.

With that the Lord’s Chosen now has a branch in California. God has also visited him and healed him of his liver and kidney problems.” Advising internet fraudsters to repent and look for genuine work to do, Obinali said he now has peace and things are working out well for him. Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri with his entourage was at Mgbidi 2022 to thank God for the turnaround in his life and in Bayelsa State. The governor laid at the Church altar to pray. He said Pastor Lazarus Muoka is one of the instruments God used to turn his life and Bayelsa State around for good. “The people and the government of Bayelsa State are proud of the Lord’s Chosen Church. We are happy to be identified with the Church and Daddy Lazarus Muoka. I was here last year, and a lot of people heard my testimony. I never laid there to acknowledge cheers from you, rather I laid there to keep a promise and as a way of worshipping God, who turned everything in my life and in my state around for good. So, I have come to represent the state of Bayelsa, the government of Bayelsa and to say a very big thank you to daddy and the church. I thank you all,” he said.
