Two suspects die attempting to bomb petroleum facility in Imo

TWO people were killed yesterday in an alleged attempt to bomb a petroleum facility in Izombe, Oguta Local Council of Imo State.

The Guardian gathered that the deceased were blown into pieces by explosives while trying to gain entrance into the petroleum company.

Sources said that the suspects were seen with explosives and were interactin­g with the gatemen when the explosives allegedly exploded and killed them instantly, while others in the vicinity were wounded.

Spokespers­on for Imo State Police Command, Michael Abattam, a Chief Superinten­dent of Police ( CSP), who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said the Commission­er of Police, Ahmed Barde, has dispatched officers to investigat­e the incident.

Recall that the AbaeziEgbe­ma community in Ohaji / Egbema Local Council, a fortnight ago, witnessed an explosion, where 110 people were killed.

50 of them were given mass burial at the site of the explosion.
