- From Rauf Oyewole, Bauchi

TYouths Progressive Forum ( YPF) of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) of defacing campaign posters of its aspirants in Bauchi State.

YPF National Chairman, Ukkasha Rahama, told newsmen, yesterday, that political thuggery had increased and vowed to petition the Inspector- General of Police ( IGP), Usman Baba, and the Department of State Services ( DSS) to identify the sponsors.

He lamented the increasing attacks on opposition parties in the state, particularly APC, under the PDP administration and stressed the urgent need to call the thugs and their sponsors to order.

The forum urged Governor

Bala Mohammed to address the increasing attacks on APC in the state, especially as the 2023 general elections approach.

Rahama’s words: “The scenes of destruction of billboards and campaign of Nura Soro, led by unknown persons, stand condemnable and unfortunate. This is coming at the time Soro has every right to contest whatever political seat he may deem fit, according to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

He alleged that PDP supporters were behind the destruction.

But spokesman of Bauchi PDP, Yayanuwa Zainabari, denied the allegations against his party and joined the complainant in urging the security agencies to fish out the sponsors of such attacks on campaign posters.
