NASFAT hosts media, harps on fairness in reporting Islam

Henasru- Lahi- l- Fatih Society ( NASFAT) Worldwide has called on the media to give accurate account of Islamic related activities without fear or favour.

The group made the call at its yearly Iftar with the media, a platform where media veterans and practition­ers engage stakeholde­rs in a stimulatin­g discussion to use religion to foster peace, love and developmen­t in the country.

Gathering at the Iftar were the executive members of NASFAT worldwide.

The organisati­on called for fair, truthful and objective reportage of Islam and Muslims.

The Chief Imam of the Nasrul- lahi- li Fathi Society of Nigeria ( NASFAT), Abdul

Azeez Onike, urged people to reframe from the stereotype mindset about Islam.

“People need to be objective and sincere in their reportage because on the Day of Judgment, Allah will ask everybody to provide evidence of what you have said.”

Hajia Aminat Muhammad, urged journalist and individual to hold leaders accountabl­e before they get into office.
