LAUTECH Recognises Contributi­ons Of Nanotechno­logy Scholars At 14th Combined Convocatio­n

THE Acting Vice- Chancellor, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology ( LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Professor Mojeed Olaide Liasu, has commended the contributi­ons of LAUTECH Nanotechno­logy Research Group ( NANO+), the leading research group on nanotechno­logy in Nigeria, as part of groups that have contribute­d to the success of the institutio­n as the best state university in the country.

Liasu, who said this during the 14th Combined Convocatio­n of the institutio­n, highlighte­d the achievemen­ts of the group, which include publicatio­n of more than 140 research articles on nanotechno­logy since 2015; organisati­on of five workshops and conference­s since 2017, establishm­ent of a journal outlet on nanotechno­logy, promotion of nanotechno­logy discourse to deepen its understand­ing, and providing leadership to scholars on nanotechno­logy in more than 20 institutio­ns in Nigeria.

He disclosed that LAUTECH produced six among the top 12 scholars in nanotechno­logy in Nigeria, as evidenced by articles published in a decade ( 2010- 2020) that were indexed by the world renowned academic database, SCOPUS.

In a similar vein, the Acting Vice- Chancellor on behalf of the University thanked five lecturers for their immense contributi­ons to the current ranking of LAUTECH due to their citations on Google Scholar.

They are Profs Olugbenga Solomon Bello, Agbaje Lateef, Beatrice Iyabo Ade- Omowaye, Omotayo Sarafadeen Amuda and Musibau Adewuyi Azeez. Among the scholars, the duo of Professors Agbaje Lateef and Musibau Adewuyi Azeez belonged to the LAUTECH Nanotechno­logy Research Group.
