Police arrest three suspected armed robbery syndicate in Ogun

OPERATIVES of Ogun State Police Command have arrested three members of an armed robbery syndicate after attacking and robbing a company in Ogijo area of the state.

The suspects, Shadrach Blessing, 25; Edibo Peter, 25 and Osuagwu Onyebuchi, 27 were arrested following a distress call received by policemen at Ogijo divisional headquarte­rs.

The trio allege dly gained access to Ruthfort Service Limited at Ikorodu- Sagamu road, Ogijo, at about 2: 45 a. m. through the fence.

T he suspects allegedly pointed guns at the security man on duty after cutting the security wire and ordered him to lie face down, while they removed four industrial batteries.

On receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer ,

Ogijo division, Chief Superinten­dent of Police ( CSP), Onatufeh Umoh, quickly led his patrol team to the scene, where the robbers who have already escaped to the street were chased in collaborat­ion with members of public and arrested three amongst them, while others escaped.

Recovered from them are the four industrial batteries.

EANWHILE, the state’s

commission­er of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigat­ion and Intelligen­ce Department ( SCIID)

for discreet investigat­ion.
