Community leaders pledge to support Imo govt tackle insecurity

LEADERS of Alike Community in Obowo Local Council of Imo State have pledged to support the state government led by Hope Uzodimma in areas of security, provision of social amenities and uniting the people for common good.

In a statement received by The Guardian, yesterday, the Eze- elect of Alike, Chief Emma Obasi, and the new President- General of Alike Development Union Federated ( ADUF), Chief Clifford Ibekwe, flayed insecurity in the country, which, according to them, has retarded development and general well- being of citizens.

Reiterating the need for collaborative support and peaceful co- existence among members of the community, they assured governor of their commitment to policies and programmes that would uplift the general wellbeing of the people.

They also promised to engage the indigenes, especially the youth, on viable enterprises and skills acquisition programmes to enhance their socio- economic lives.

Ibekwe was elected, recently, alongside Innocent Ahananye ( General Secretary), Chief Cosmas Iroh ( Publicity Secretary) and Ben Egeonu ( Treasurer) to pilot the affairs of ADUF.
