Sanwo- Olu commends FOMWAN for uniting women
Group seeks financial support for completion of health facility
THE Federation of Muslim Women’s Association In Nigeria ( FOMWAN), Lagos State chapter has enjoined Muslims to continue to maintain all the virtues displayed during the Holy month of Ramadan and adhere to government’s COVID- 19 regulations.
Speaking during the group’s family day celebration organised to bring family and friends together and to appreciate Allah for seeing them through the Holy month of Ramadan, the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo- Olu, represented by Secretary to the State Goverment, Mrs. Folashade Jaji, congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan fasting. “I pray Almighty Allah accept all your worship, sacrifices, prayers and preserve our life to witness many more in good health and prosperity.”
He commended the leadership of FOMWAN for upholding the legacy of the founding mothers of the organisation to foster unity and togetherness among Muslim women. “This yearly family day celebration is no doubt a great initiative that brings families together in a joyful atmosphere to show gratitude to Almighty Allah for the grace of witnessing another end of the holy month of Ramadan.”
He said the theme for this year’s celebration ‘ The Global Panacea: underlying lesson for Muslims Worldwide’ brings back to consciousness challenges faced as a result of the pandemic and the need to reflect on the salient issues that must engage attention if there will be any going forward.
“We give glory to God and I commend all our first line respondents for the successful containment of the pandemic. We must always remember the significant lesson to always observe personal hygiene to curtail the spread of the virus and other life threatening diseases. In addition, the government will continue to invest in our health care facilities to be able to respond to unforeseen emergencies,” he said.
