Cleric condemns get rich quick syndrome, tasks politician on campaign promises

- By Shakirah Adunola

THE founder of Lutful- lahi International, Shaykh Mohammad Robiu Adebayo, has called on Nigerians to put in more efforts on charity, as this will reduce ritual killings and quest to get rich quick in the country.

The cleric noted that tampering with the human body for ritual purpose is inglorious in Islam, as the religion does not support money ritual.

Speaking during the group’s 2022 Lailatul Qadri programme, the renowned scholar faulted clerics, who provide supernatural solutions to basic economic issues that could be resolved with hard work as there is no logical link between wealth and rituals.

“Learning and knowing the Holy Quran, wearing of turban or portraying the attributes of Muslim clerics does not pronounce one as a cleric. A person we can call a Muslim cleric is one who follows the tenets of Islam and obeys the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ( SAW), though nobody can be perfect at it. Such a person must be far from all what Allah forbids like drinking alcohol, committing zina, gambling, lying and all other major sins.”

He noted that people could seek spiritual consultation but it must be done as prescribed in Islam. “We can pray inside water, using the names of Almighty Allah. This must be free of any diabolic incantations. You can recite an Ayah or surah from the Holy Quran with a firm belief that healing comes only from Allah. If we condemn herbs or spiritual healing, then it means we must also condemn medications. Any healing done with other names apart from Allah ( SWT) is not accepted in Islam.”

He added that Islam does not discourage wealth accumulation but it must not be pegged on idolatry.

“Anyone who amasses wealth by using humans for ritual, if such a person achieves his aim it means Allah wants to punish him. You must not inflict pain on others to achieve wealth or success. How many years do you want to live on earth? There are people who have spent more than 500 years on earth, even a prophet of

Allah, prophet Nur spent about a thousand years on earth and he never aged. About four of the prophets live long and they never age.
