ALL Progressives Congress ( APC) presidential aspirant, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, has said he would not be intimidated by any aspirant to step down from the race.
No fewer than 27 aspirants, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former President Goodluck Jonathan; APC national leader, Bola Tinubu; and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi have procured the party’s forms for the primary election.
Bello, who submitted his form at the International Conference Centre ( ICC), Abuja, was optimistic that he would emerge the flagbearer of APC at the national convention holding at the end of this month.
Submitting the forms, the Director- General of Bello’s campaign organisation, Hafsat Abiola- Costello, urged Nigerians to keep a date with destiny on May 29, 2023, as her principal would succeed
President Muhammadu Buhari.
Bello said he had already canvassed for delegates’ votes from across the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT), Abuja.
Abiola- Costello said: “I have come, on behalf of our candidate, to submit the Expression of Interest form and I want to express my congratulations to all Nigerians. Today, we have taken another step in the journey to restore hope to Nigerians by submitting the presidential application of Governor Bello.
“With this form, we express our sincere assurance that with Bello’s candidacy, we have the opportunity to restore to the Nigerian people security, to restore unity and progress towards prosperity to Nigerians.”
On the several candidates in the race, she said: “We welcome every candidate to the race and we want to encourage all Nigerians to keep faith. Bello did not start this project this month or this year; he started it many years ago.”
