2023: Boroffice Vows To Tackle Insecurity, Provide Electricit­y, If Elected President

THE Deputy Senate Majority Leader, Prof. Robert Ajayi Boroffice, yesterday, formally declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidenti­al election. He vowed to tackle insecurity and elec - tricity, if elected.

Boroffice is the Senator representi­ng Ondo North Senatorial District, on the platform of the All Progressiv­es Congress ( APC).

Speaking in Abuja during the declaratio­n, he rolled out a four- point agenda, which included fighting insecurity; economic developmen­t; education; human resources developmen­t and anti- corruption.

Boroffice also said that if elected president, his administra­tion would establish the Ministry of Homeland Security.

He said: “T o combat the scourge of insurgency, I will sponsor specialise­d training for counter- insurgency units in security agencies to hunt and destroy terrorists in the countr y.

“Kidnapping will be tackled by the special unit by tracking, hunting and destroying rings. I will build on the foundation­al work regarding the National Identifica­tion Number ( NIN) registrati­on. This is quite vital.

“I will sustain Nigeria’s investment in the Multinatio­nal Joint T ask Force ( MNJTF) and closely work with neighbouri­ng countries such as Benin, Cameroun, Chad and Niger to combat terrorism and protect the territoria­l integrity of Nigeria...”

The Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Umaru Danni, who is also the Director- General of the Buhari Support Group,

“Boroface is a man that understand­s the people, if elected president of Nigeria, everybody will continue to be proud of him.”
