- From Rotimi Agboluaje, Ibadan

AN alumnus of the University of Ibadan and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace Airline, Allen Onyema, yesterday, appealed to members of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities ( ASUU) to end their protracted strike for the sake of the students.

Onyema made the appeal during the commissioning of a 15- bedroom guesthouse he donated to the University of Ibadan Alumni Association ( UIAA).

He appealed to the striking workers to give the government the benefit of doubt because of the people brought up to address the lingering disagreement.

Onyema said: “We have to go back to discover our root. We need to rediscover those old glorious days. The current ASUU strike pains me. I use this opportunity to appeal to ASUU members for the sake of our children, for the sake of the wellbeing of the nation and wellbeing of our children to call off this strike.
