Akeredolu urges APC on fair play during primaries

- From Collins Osuji, Owerri

Wof Ondo State Governor and senatorial aspirant for Imo East Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Mrs. Betty Akeredolu, has urged the party leaders to ensure fair play and transparency in the forthcoming party’s primaries.

Akeredolu, who ga ve the charge when she consulted the Imo party executives and delegates at the party’s secretariat in Owerri, at the weekend, said: “Only open and fair primaries would produce credible candidates capable of securing victories for our party in the main election.”

She expressed optimism on her capacity to clinch the party’s ticket for the senatorial contest, stressing that the majority of her constituents were committed to her aspiration and project.

She reiterated that her decision to run for the senate was to represent the female folks, give voice to the voiceless and to address the neglect of the district by the previous senators and state

administrations.
