VICE President Yemi Osinbajo has said that service is his only reason for aspiring to the number one seat in the country.

The VP, who was in Jigawa State to consult with All Progressives Congress ( APC) delegates, said: “Having been in office as Vice President for seven years, I know that God did not give me that opportunity, just for me to sit down somewhere and write the story of my service as Vice President.

“In this country, there is a lot of hope; this country has everything necessary to be great, including the men and women who are able to serve. I am very optimistic that all will be well with our country.”

Acknowledging the support he has been getting towards his presidential bid, Osinbajo told the delegates that his sole purpose for seeking the highest office of the land was purely to serve the country.

IMILARLY, Senator Bukola Saraki has promised to free- up the solid minerals subsector to create jobs as a means to tackle insecurity in the country.

Disclosing this, yesterday, when he met Kogi State delegates in Lokoja, Saraki asked them to cast their votes for him as solidarity for one of their own in the presidential race for the first time since the return of democracy in 1999.

The two- term governor of Kwara State and two- term Senate president maintained that he possessed the needed capacity and experience to bring the country out of its predicament.

He added that as former chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum ( NGF), he had been tested and trusted to manage the affairs of the country, stressing that he often leaves an office better than he met it.
