Poly Ibadan student dies, partner in coma over suspected sexual encounter

ASTUDENT of the Polytechni­c Ibadan has reportedly died during suspected sexual encounter with a female partner in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The deceased, Oromidayo Daniel died on Monday, while his unconsciou­s partner, identified as Aramide Adeleke, was rushed to University College Hospital ( UCH) for treatment.

The Guardian learnt that the deceased, a National Diploma II student, Civil Engineerin­g department and his partner, Adeleke who is also a National Diploma II,

Department of Business Administra­tion allegedly took sexual enhancing drugs before engaging in the act.

A neighbour said she was horrified when she saw the lifeless body of the deceased on the floor and the female partner barely alive before being rushed to UCH.

“He is in my faculty. We were supposed to start our examinatio­ns yesterday before the school was closed down due to protest.

“We were asked to go back home, which we all did and when they got home, they took drugs and started having sex, which led to the death of Daniel ,” the source

Mstated. EANWHILE, Adeleke’s friends said they were unable to reach her parents as they couldn’t find her phone and no one had their contact details.

The Public Relations Officer of the institutio­n, Adewole Soladoye, noted that the incident happened outside the campus, as indeed a tragedy to the school.

“On behalf of the school management, we sympathise with the family of the deceased. We pray that the soul of the deceased rest in the bosom of God,” he stated.
