C’river APC group makes case for consensus

POLITICAL youth group in Cross River State, known as Fusion 196, has called on governorsh­ip aspirants of the All Progressiv­es Congress ( APC) to accept Senator Prince Otu as consensus candidate.

They made the call, yesterday, in Calabar while commending Governor Ben Ayade and the state party for endorsing Otu as the governorsh­ip candidate.

The support group, with members across 196 political wards in 18 councils of the state, commended the state governor for keeping to his promise to hand over power to the Southern senatorial district.

The Director General of Fusion 196, Dermott Akpoke, who spoke on behalf of the group, Mr. , thanked aspirants who conceded to the consensus arrangemen­t, stating: “We wish to, once again, thank all the aspirants who put forward themselves to aspire for the governorsh­ip of Cross River State, especially those who have conceded to the consensus arrangemen­t and also to call on those still having reservatio­ns to understand that power comes only from God and that there is a time and season for everyone and for everything.”
