Man seeks N18 million support for kidney transplant

- By Eniola Daniel

A40- YEAR- OLD man, Christian Ude, is appealing for N18 million to undergo a kidney transplant surgery.

According to his family, Ude’s ailment started 15 years ago in his hometown in Imo State, where he was initially diagnosed with diabetes mellitus.

As things got worse over the years, his family decided to transfer him to Lagos for a proper medical diagnosis.

His brother, Gideon Ude said: “In 2019, when my brother started discharging blood from his urinary organ, we rushed him to St. Leo Catholic Hospital in Ikeja. There, we were advised to take him to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi- Araba.

“We have sold many properties, begged for help and everything we could do, but we are at a point where we need to call for help from people,” he said.

A medical report signed by a Consultant nephrologist at LUTH, Dr. Rotimi Braimoh, dated April 20, 2021, attested to Ude’s a chronic kidney disease and that he would need a kidney transplant.

Also, Dr. Orji Ifeanyi, said he has been attending to Ude at Suntower Dialysis Centre, Okota, since last year.

Ude is currently placed on twice- a- week dialysis at the cost of N80,000, but the family has become cashstrapped, hence the financial plea.

The Ude family, therefore, urged Nigerians to intervene and save their son from untimely death. Donations could be sent to UBA Account number: 2252835786; Acct Name: Christian Chidomerem Ude, while his brother, Gideon Ude, could be reached on: 09018839966.
