Nigeria, Korea kickstart $ 13m digital governance initiative

NIGERIA and Korea have flagged off a $ 13 million project aimed at increasing National Identity Number ( NIN) enrolment for ordinary people.

The project, which will be funded by the Korean Internatio­nal Cooperatio­n Agency ( KOICA) is expected to enhance capacity for the further execution of key initiative­s of the National Egovernmen­t Master Plan, competenci­es for e- government service delivery and developmen­t of the Government Service Portal.

Speaking at the event, Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Kim Young- chae, noted that the project signifies the friendly and thriving bilateral relations between the Nigerian and Korean government­s, which have existed for over 40 year.

He observed that Korea’s success on e- government developmen­t is portrayed as one of the world’s best success stories.
