The Magic Of African On AMVCA Blackcarpet

- By Maria Diamond

WITH the level of publicity and media hype deployed this year, the massive turnout of guests at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards ( AMVCA) was expected. In fact, even guests with IVS had tough time accessing the Expo Hall. Indeed, it was a gathering of ‘ who is who’ in the continent’s entertainment circle.

Particularly, the Black Carpet was lit with A- list celebrities who turned up in jaw dropping outfits that got tongues wagging. While some kept it simple and cool, others took it to the next level with unique and audacious outfits that stood them out from the crowd. It was a practical example of ‘ go big or go home.’

However, even with several stunning looks on the AMVCA Black Carpet, picking out Nigerians from the continental gathering was never a big task; their face show, their shoe shine! Even viewers at home saw the magic of Africa live on the Black Carpet.

Worthy of note is reality TV star Ifu Ennada, who pulled traffic online with her black dress designed with human skulls dubbed AMVCA Transformer Look. According to her instagram post, the dress was worth over $ 100,000.

Fashion designer Toyin Lawani also stepped out bold on the AMVCA Black Carpet with a dramatic wine and black horn face dress. Other celebrities such as Pretty Mike, Denrele, Simi Drey, James Brown, Stan Nze and a number of others equally turned up in styles that got many talking.
