Adeyemi Launches Guide For Music PR

WITH a career spanning over five years, fast- rising music public relations consultant, David Adeyemi has taken the bull by the horn with the launch of a book on music titled Music Promotion: A Guide To Hacking The Damn Thing.

The launch, which took place in Victoria Island on May 7, 2022, gives a fresh perspectiv­e on breaking through in the Nigerian music industry, one of the most competitiv­e music industries worldwide. Adeyemi explores the arduous journey of breaking into the scene in his first major publicatio­n. The publicatio­n also features inputs from seasoned profession­als in the industry with the likes of Dipo Smart, Tosin Adekeye, Dusten Truce, Jide Taiwo and Edi Lawani who wrote an introducti­on to the book where he stated the importance of artistes to embrace profession­al services in public relations. Adeyemi began his career as an entertainm­ent reporter and editor, covering events and publicisin­g them across social media platforms. He later nestled in the entertainm­ent PR. He was a social media consultant and strategist with a series of campaign successes to his name.

During the lockdown in early 2020, David launched his Music PR agency, Pizzazz Media, where he and his friends consulted for emerging artistes to plan their pre and post- release campaigns. Leading the team at Pizzazz Media, he has worked with Mani Lapussh, Adeoluwa, Afrima, DJ Yin, Globe Arctic, Johni, Damilola Odedina, and others.
