Thrills, Frills Of 2022 GTCO Food And Drink Festival

-

IF anything, the 2022 GTCO Food And Drink Festival boosted the Lagos state tourism. This was evidenced in the massive turn out of guests from all walks of life, including international tourists.

The just concluded festival, which was hosted at the GTCentre, Victoria Island, Lagos, showed that food and drink can bring people together in an atmosphere of fun and excitement. It also demonstrated that the business of food and drink is a venture that would not only improve the GDP of any country, but also boost Small and Medium- Scale Enterprises ( SMES).

Narrating his experience at the festival, Mr.

Adekunle said: “When I first stepped into the venue, I could have sworn I was in a wrong location, as the crowd was beyond my imagination. Then I saw the excitement on my children’s faces when they spotted the playground. Just before they left for the park, we walked down to the vendors and had challenges making a choice due to the varieties of food vendors. We quickly stopped over at one of the vendors for food, and suddenly I saw my kids sitting on the floor one after the other. Before I could react, I realised they had seen other sophisticated looking grown ups with their wards eating whilst seated on the floor; the crowd was beyond what any sitting arrangement in such a setting could provide.

“I have travelled all over the world and I never experienced anything like this - how a Food and Drink Festival can attract such a large crowd, young, old and even foreigners.”

On her part Mrs. Halimat Aderibigbe said: “There was absolutely no need to stress over how or where to spend the Eid- Fitr holiday, as my colleagues who were here yesterday, did a video of the event and I was decided to come with my husband and kids today. There couldn’t have been a better place to be,” she noted.
