Amazons Of Sports Tourism Africa Induction Holds May 31

PURPOSEFUL­LY selected women pushing back the frontiers of sports tourism across Africa will be inducted into the prestigiou­s African Sports Tourism Week’s Amazons of Sports Tourism hall of fame, on May 31, 2022.

The hall of fame, which is an offshoot of Travel Gurls Sport Week, African Sports Tourism Week’s CSR initiative, is a collection of women with positive dispositio­n towards sports tourism and those who - through innovation, creativity and resilience - push back the frontiers of sports tourism in Africa.

The induction ceremony will be conducted by UNICEF Lagos Chief Field Officer Ms. Celine Lafoucrier­e, Regional Manager ( West Africa) of South African Tourism, Thekiso Rakolojane; Laliga Global Network Delegate to Nigeria & Ghana, Desmond Chiji; Deputy High Commission­er of South Africa to Nigeria, HE Dr. Bobby Moroe and Chairman of African Tourism Board, Cuthbert Ncube Ncube.

The inductees include Clare Akamanzi - CEO of Rwanda Developmen­t Board, Moonira Ramathula - First Vice President of Gauteng Sports Confederat­ion, Remi Faderera- Johnson- CEO of Seventh Sports & Events, Ngozi Ngoka - CEO of Zigona Travels & Tours, Charity Githinji - CEO of Tadanza Africa, Folashade Falokun - CEO of Myjays Classic Events, Moyo Ogunseinde - Founder, Upbeat Recreation­al Centre, Damilola Pedro - Head of Growth & Partnershi­p Gamr Africa, Wanda Ibru - founder of Practical African Tourism & Hospitalit­y Ways, Betty Radier - CEO of Kenya Tourism Board, Nomasonto Ndlovu - former CEO of Limpopo Tourism Agency, Stella Fubara- Obinwa - Director of African Operations Dubai Tourism, Bisi Olowo - Managing Director of Interguide Air Services, Ubongabasi Nseobot - Sales & Marketing Manager of Southern Sun Ikoyi, Edith Udegbe - Head of Corporate Sales Delta Air Lines, Yvonne Mukabana - Marketing Officer at Confederat­ion of African Football, Tayo Popoola - Organizer of Lagos Women Run, Amaka Amatokwu- Ndekwu - founder of Pyne Awards Africa and Megan Oberholzer - Portfolio Manager WTM Africa.
