Suswam optimistic BVAS will eradicate ballot box snatching

SENATOR Gabriel Suswam has said the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) has completely tackled the challenge of ballot box snatching with the introduction of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System ( BVAS).

Suswam stated this at the flag- off of the Benue NorthEast senatorial campaign in Adikpo, Kwande Local Council of Benue State on Monday.

Advising people against contemplating the snatching of ballot boxes because it would be of no use to them, he told them to rather concentrate on canvassing support for their preferred party at the electoral wards.

“The era of ballot box snatching is over. If you snatch a ballot box, you are wasting your time. All you need do is to man your polling units with your Permanent Voter Card ( PVC) to ensure victory for our party,” Suswam said.

He also advised against campaign of calumny and insults.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) would win overwhelmingly in the 2023 general elections.

He disclosed that with the massive turn out at the event, he was pretty sure that Benue North- East would vote massively for the PDP.

“I make bold to say that the Benue North- West and Benue South senatorial districts are strongholds of the PDP. Come 2023, it will be PDP all the way. Our party will sweep all the positions,” Ortom said.

The governor assured that PDP members would continue to work together for the good of the state and the party, stressing that he believed in unity of purpose. Meanwhile, the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Titus Uba, who was represented by his running mate, John Ngbede, advised the people to remain united and support the party, stressing that unity would give them victory.
