Sanwo- Olu, Ooni, Akarigbo, others honour ex- UNILAG VC at book launch

Babajide Sanwo- Olu of Lagos State, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, were among dignitarie­s who honoured immediate past vice chancellor of the University of Lagos ( UNILAG), Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe at a book launch.

The occasion was the public presentati­on of the book titled: “The Captain Steering The Ship Above Murky Waters,” authored by Ogundipe.

The event, which held at Eko Hotel and Suites, was a celebratio­n of Ogundipe, described as an astute administra­tor.

Sanwo- Olu described Ogundipe as a committed administra­tor who has made UNILAG the toast of admission seekers and the envy of Nigeria.

He commended the former VC for rising above the turbulence at the institutio­n in August 2020, during his crisis with former Pro- chancellor and Chairman of Council, Dr Wale Babalakin.

He said: “I can attest that during your tenure, we have seen giant strides and witnessed your meaningful impact. We have seen purposeful governance and we have seen administra­tion per excellence. We know that you have to do that for the University that has become the envy, not only in Nigeria but the world.
