Okowa’s administration, a failure, Omo Agege declares as APC commences campaign
You lied, gov replies APC guber candidate
SENATE Deputy President and Delta State All Progressives Party ( APC) Governorship Candidate, Ovie Omo Agege, yesterday, accused the state Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa of “running the state aground despite the humongous N2.8 trillion received from federal account and other sources to fix the state.”
Speaking at the APC campaign flag- off in Asaba, Omo Agege said he was deeply disturbed by the way and manner the governor pushed the state into crisis.
He said: “I entered this race ( governorship race) because I am deeply dissatisfied with the state of affairs in Delta State. This event, therefore, marks the beginning of a historic journey, which I have committed into the hands of the Almighty God for direction, strength, guidance and wisdom. It is a journey for the good of the generality of the people of Delta State.
“Following the pillage of the state by the Okowa administration, I promised to restore and revive the state, by engaging one of the best teams of experts to come up with realistic policies and plans, which, when implemented, will get Delta State going in the right direction again.”
But in his reaction, Okowa accuse Omo- Agege of lying, saying he is not knowledgeable about things on ground.
Okowa, who spoke through the Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, at a press conference in Asaba, said it is uncharitable for the Deputy Senate President to claim not to be aware of his achievements over the years.
He said: “We have done enough for Deltans, even in the riverine communities, we have done more than enough, we have provided hospitals, bridges and roads cross the state. Again, look at our airport, it has been upgraded.
He described APC government and its leaders as a complete failure, who knows nothing about governance and how to make the people have a fair share of dividends of democracy.
