NIGERIA- America born musician, songwriter and record label executive, Jesse Adesotu Woghiren- Obamedo, popularly known as BB02, has joined the raging political conversation in Nigeria, as the citizens gird their loins ahead the 2023 general elections.

In his latest single titled Eyes Dey Red, which was released in August under his Bigmanity Record label, BB02 gives an insight into his movement to the United States, and his journey into the exciting world of music.

The singer migrated to the United States three decades ago, and like many of his compatriots both at home and in the Diaspora, he feels angry, bitter and frustrated at the colossal failure of the ruling class over the years.

Speaking from his base in the U. S., BB02 lamented, “When I left Nigeria for the United States in 1990, my intention was to study, return and contribute my quota to national development. But 30 years after, the politicians have ruined the nation. There is insecurity everywhere, poverty and corruption everywhere.

“There is complete collapse of governance, and right now, the soul of Nigeria is yearning for freedom,” he said.

He admonished Nigerians to make the right choice in the fast approaching 2023 general elections so that the country can take her rightful place in the comity of nations.

In three minutes, his latest single ‘ Eyes Dey Red’ gives vent to the three decades of pent- up pain and anguish of not just BB02 but over 100 million impoverished Nigerians.

As a song writer, composer, arranger and vocalist, BB02 in ‘ Eyes Dey Red’ displayed his creativity through the uncanny way he weaved the lyrics to create the harmonious rhyme and rhythm, which makes the music a piece of enchanting work.

“You listen to it once and you just can’t resist listening to it again and again and again,” he said.

With the attention and positive reviews, which ‘ Eyes Dey Red’ is receiving, it will soon be adopted as the anthem for the struggle by millions of Nigerians who are clamouring, praying and working for a new political order that will create an egalitarian society.

Though, he is enjoying national acclaim through his songs, BB02 is not all about music. He is a man of several interests.

Born into the Benin royal family of Chief Egbe ( Omedo) of King Obanosa lineage, Jesse Adesotu Woghiren- Obamedo migrated to the United States of America in 1990.

He attended the Northeastern University in Boston, USA, and earned degrees in Music and Business Management/ Intellectual Property Laws.
