Akarigbo marks five years on throne, seeks investment­s in Remoland

THE Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remoland, Oba ( Dr.) Adewale Babatunde Ajayi, has urged indigenes and residents of the community to invest in Remoland owing to its endowment with human and material resources.

He gave the charge during a media briefing to announce his 60th birthday and fifthyear coronation anniversar­y, yesterday, noting that Remo indigenes had their root at Ile- Ife with the landscape known as Remoland today because of its vantage location which is the gateway between Lagos, the commercial nucleus of Nigeria and the rest of the country.

The monarch said that the key thing in maintainin­g a healthy relationsh­ip with all the ethnic groups in Sagamu, being a cosmopolit­an town, was the ability to listen to people’s problems.

He further said that the developmen­t of over 40 Remo communitie­s would provide conducive environmen­t for businesses to thrive.

“In the next 10 years, I see Remo as the industrial capital of Ogun State and Nigeria, where everybody will want to live in peace, harmony and love,” he said.

Meanwhile, the fifth coronation and 60th birthday committee of the Akarigbo of Remoland, headed by Otunba Seni Asetu, has said that the celebratio­n will showcase laudable achievemen­ts of the Akarigbo in the last five years.

Asetu said that the seven- day dual event would commence between Friday, December 2, 2022 and Sunday, December 11, 2022.

He said: “In unveiling the activities, there will be a commemorat­ive Islamic Prayers on Friday, December 2, 2022, at the Sagamu Central Mosque. On Saturday,

December 3, the youths of Remoland will converge on Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, followed by a dedicated thanksgivi­ng service for Kabiyesi at St. Saviour’s Church, Ikenne, on Sunday, December 4, 2022 respective­ly.

“On Monday, December 5, His Royal Majesty’s birthday will be celebrated at the Akarigbo’s Palace, Wednesday, December 7, marks the exact day five years ago when he ascended the throne.
