PFrom Azimazi Momoh Jimoh ( Abuja) and Mansur Aramide ( Gombe) RESIDENTIAL candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), Atiku Abubakar, rekindled memories of Nigeria’s former Prime Minister, the late Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, as he promised to restore the glory of the North East, as done by Balewa, if elected president.

He also promised to revive ailing and moribund infrastructure established by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, including the Dadin Kowa Dam and various roads connecting Gombe State to other parts of the country.

Speaking at the PDP presidential campaign in Gombe State, yesterday, the PDP flagbearer alleged that most of the infrastructure put in place to strengthen the state’s economy was abandoned by the All Progressives Congress ( APC) administration.

“Here in Gombe, I will ensure that we give businessmen the support to initiate industries that will give youths, both male and female, jobs. “
