An Ethiopian Boeing 767 airliner crashed into the Indian ocean near Grand Comore Island. It had been hijacked after takeoff from Addis Ababa and ran out of fuel under hijacker demands to fly to Australia. 125 of 175 people died. The plane was destined for the Ivory Coast.
