Comment on Obi: Soludo not guilty of any crime, say Ohanaeze youths

THE Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council ( OYC), yesterday, rose in defence of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, over his recent letter to the Labour Party ( LP) presidenti­al candidate, Peter Obi, saying Soludo is not guilty of any crime.

Recall that Soludo had in a statement declared that Obi was merely playing games, and would not get anywhere near the presidenti­al seat. Many persons and groups have since come hard on the governor, with impeachmen­t threat.

A sta tement by the National President of the youth wing of the apex Igbo socio- cultural organisati­on, Okwu Nnabuike, said that Soludo should be left alone, stressing that Obi’s candidacy should not be reduced to an Igbo project. The goup ad ded that Soludo reserved the right to support any candidate of his choice.

Nnabuike said: “We want to say that reactions, which Soludo’s statement has generated are worrisome and needles too. It has got to the point that people are talking of impeachmen­t; while others are threatenin­g to dump refuse at the Government
