Abbey Mortgage Bankers embark on walk for environmen­t

TO further raise awareness about the need to protect the environmen­t, Abbey Mortgage Bank, at the weekend, took a stance to protect the environmen­t by walking 8kms to advance the cause.

Along with members of the Nigerian Red Cross, who were proud partners for the cause, the Staff of Abbey Mortgage Bank walked the streets of Lagos singing and chanting words of motivation to onlookers. Brandishin­g placards with motivating quotes on them as they marched from the Lekki Link Bridge to Victoria Island.

“We are proud to be part of this charity walk to raise awareness of the devastatin­g effects of climate change and how it has impacte d so many people’s lives and livelihood. We truly empathise with those families and are happy to work with the Nigerian Red Cross Society to help these flood victims”, said Lolita Ejiofor, GM, Group head, IT & Operations.

“Despite the craz y week I've had, I was more than happy to get up bright and early for this walk because this cause is one that I believe in”, said Dani ella Awani, an Abbey Mortgage Bank employee. “At Abbey we believe in empowering and uplifting each other , and we hope that by doing this we can play a small part in lifting the spirits of those that ha ve been so gravely affected by the flood.”
