Disregard alleged lobby to delay NDDC Board, says Commission
NDelta Development Commission ( NDDC) has debunked an allegation that the Commission, in connivance with some contractors, plans to frustrate the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to reconstitute the board of the Commission.
Dr. Ibitoye Abosede, the Commission’s Director of Corporate Affairs, made this denial in a statement.
The statement reads: “The attention of the NDDC has been drawn to a false and baseless allegation by a sociocultural group, Niger Delta Alliance for Economic Survival ( NDAES) to the effect that some management staff of NDDC, in cohort with some contractors, plan to frustrate the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to reconstitute the board of the Commission.
“The spurious allegation, published by an online news medium, claiming that the NDDC Acting Managing Director entered into ‘ an agreement with some members of the Senate to continue to share the Commission’s funds,’ is false.
“The group, led by one Tubonemi Chibisi, in one breath, accused the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs of complicity in the plan to sabotage the good intentions of the Federal Government.”
