Azikel Group donates rice to Bayelsa flood victims

AGroup, owners of modular hydro- skimming petroleum refinery in Bayelsa State, has donated 40,000 bags of rice to flood victims in the state, describing the experience as the lowest point in the lives of the people.

The President of Azikel Group, Dr. Eruani Azibabu Godbless, said the donation was in fulfilment of his promise to Bayelsa State Government and the people of the state to donate N350 million worth of relief materials to victims of the floods. Godbless said at the presentati­on of the items, witnessed by Commission­er for Environmen­t, Mr. Iselema Gbaranbiri, who represente­d Governor Douye Diri, that the over 40,000 bags of rice were presented to the state on behalf of his family and staff of Azikel Group.

He described the floods as one one of the lowest point in the history of the state.

Diri, through the commission­er, commended Azikel Group for the donation and urged other private individual­s and organisati­ons to support the state.

Former Nigerian Ambassador to the Scandinavi­an countries and current Pro- Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of Federal University of Technology, Akure ( FUTA), Dr. Godknows Bolade Igali, described Azikel Group’s President as an exemplary leader to youths of the state.
