Delta govt shutdown school over teacher, student’s fight
DState government has shutdown Zappa Mixed Secondar y School, Asaba, following a violent clash between a teacher and female student.
The Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, said the decision follow ed the violent beha viour of a female student and her mother.
According to the school principal, Roseline Ogbokor, the female student was punished for an offence and went home to inform her mother who later went to the school to fight the teacher.
It took the intervention of the police and vigilance group to restore calm to the school.
Ezewu, who decried the unruly and unguarded behaviours exhibited by the student and her mother, directed the principal to close down the school. Ogbokor alleged that the mother of the female student came with her daughter to fight the teacher for punishing her.
