Tinubu’s family cautions against false narratives about APC flagbearer

- By Opeyemi Babalola

THE paternal family members of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) in the coming general elections, Bola Tinubu, has warned the public against spewing negative and false narratives about them and their son.

The family, which is the founder of Abibat Mogaji Beneficiaries Vanguard For BAT ( AMBV4BAT), gave the admonition during a press conference in Lagos, yesterday, while expressing worry over how the demoralising allegations may shape people’s mind in the general elections.

National Coordinator of the group, Salman Akorede, while reacting to series of allegations of false age and drug involvement, among others, levelled against Tinubu, said: “Why are people coming up with a story that has been dead for over 20 years. In the lifetime of a man, there will be things you will come across or those that will be your road path to get to where you are going.

“If not for lack of fear, who will bring that up at this time and even when it was brought up, the United Nations ( UN) Ambassador to Nigeria then paid an official visit to Tinubu to clear that issue and even the TV station that reported it has apologised.”

Also, in his reaction, Tinubu’s cousin, Kamoru Amodu, said the party’s chance of winning the presidential election is high with a perfect match of Tinubu/ Shettima ticket.
