Ugwuanyi has supported police in discharge of duties, says AIG

T HEnew Assistant Inspector General of Police ( AIG) in- charge of Zone 13, AIG Abutu Y aro, has expressed satisfacti­on with the support the administra­tion of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, since its inception in 2015, has given the state Police Command to effectivel­y discharge its duties in the state. Yaro also commended the governor for the remarkable efforts of his administra­tion in enhancing the security architectu­re of the state through community policing mechanisms such as formation and operation of the Neighbourh­ood Watch and Forest Guard, stressing that they are “functional and effective.”

Speaking when he paid a courtesy visit to Ugwuanyi at the Government House, Enugu, yesterday, the new AIG, who oversees the functions of all police formations in Enugu and Anambra states, disclosed that the existing security architectu­re in Enugu is exciting and worthy of emulation. He added that the governor’s support ha ve “given leverage to the moderate and satisfacto­r y security atmosphere we now enjo y, despite the occasional hiccups, and other destructio­ns, which we witnessed recently.”
