Foundation pays NECO enrollment fees for 200 indigent students
ANON- GOVERNMENTAL Organisation based in Abuja, T- 200 Foundation, has paid the National Examination Council ( NECO) fees for 200 indigent students in Oshimili South local government area of Delta State.
The Founder, Emmanuel Osadebe, at the maiden edition of the foundation’s Scholarship and Grant Award, urged the selected students not to allow any obstacle in life to stop them from realising their goals. He said the gesture was for the actualisation of the Sustainable Development Goals ( SDG) agenda. Osadebe, represented by Mr. Stanley Ekpa, urged the students to put in their best to pass the examination.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to see the grant as a springboard for realising their life goals, adding that the initiative was geared towards giving back to the community having passed through such in the past years.
He said: “I’m here on behalf of my boss, Mr. Emmanuel Nnamdi Osadebe in this first edition of enrolling 200 students in the NECO exam. “We started with NECO, by next year, we will include WAEC and JAMB examinations on our scholarship. The grant for 200 indigent students in Oshimili South
Local Government Area of Delta State covered various schools.
Twenty students were selected from each government owned secondary school in Asaba but for Osadenis High School, we selected 80 students.”
The chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ), Delta State Council, Michael Ikeogwu, told the students to work hard to justify the foundation’s good gesture, pointing out that education was a sure way to self- development and self- actualisation.
The principal of Osadenis High School, Mrs. Patience Aguonye also applauded the foundation, saying that a lot of organisations have scammed the school by taking photographs of their students but never came back for the scholarship.
She urged the students to make their tomorrow better by reading hard and warned them that there is no magic pen to pass exams, other than studying hard.
