Why Muslims must maintain godliness beyond Ramadan, by
THE founder of Luthfullahi International, Sheikh Robiu Abdul Malik has called on Muslims to sustain their steadfastness to the tenets of Islam beyond the 30 days of fasting in the month Ramadan that ended 10 days ago.
The renowned cleric advised Muslims to sustain their act of worship, good deeds and submission to Allah beyond the holy month of Ramadan and continue to exercise patience and perseverance in the face of variety of hardship being encountered in the course of their sojourn on earth.
According to him, after Ramadan, good deeds should continue as well as closeness to Allah. “Muslims are encouraged to shun bad habits and behaviour during Ramadan while charity of various kinds is upheld. The same disposition should be embraced throughout the year. Those acts of kindness and godliness should not be limited to the Ramadan period alone. No matter the condition you are in, you must worship Allah. On no soul, Allah put a burden greater than what he or she can bear. Allah blesses each and every one differently, a poor person may be bestowed with good health more than a rich person. Allah’s blessings and favours are different from each other. No one can force Allah to do anything for him, you only continue to beg Him. He has told us in the Holy Quran to call upon Him and He will answer us. He knows what is good for everyone. Religion is important in our life and it must go with good behaviour.”
Speaking during the group’s yearly Lailatul Qadri, Sheikh Malik further admonished Muslims to strive to receive the blessing of the night of majesty as the night is equivalent to 1000 months of worship. “The night of majesty is the best of all nights, a significant surah in the holy Quran speaks about this night – Al- Qadri ( chapter 97) is purposely sent to us because of this night. We can search for this night in the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan. All acts of Ibadah done on the night of majesty are equivalent to the rewards of 1000 years.”
Vice President, Lutful- lahi International, Dr. Abdul Ganiyu Agbaje said that for a night to occupy a chapter in the Holy Quran, it shows how significant the night is. “Lailatul Qadri is a grace from Almighty Allah to the Muslims. How many people leave up to 80 years but we are given this opportunity every year, that is one of the mercies of Allah on us as Muslims,” he said.
Alhaji Sulaiman Adeshola Oyenuga said a lot of benefits are enjoyed as members of Luthful- lahi.
