Tinubu’s Wife Launches Tech Training For Women Entreprene­urs

AS part of efforts to empower women entreprene­urs with tech and digital skills for economic growth and developmen­t, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu ( CON) has flagged off the Southwest Huawei Renewed Hope Initiative ( RHI) Women in Tech Training.

Addressing participan­ts at the flag- off of the training programme held at University of Lagos, the First Lady of Nigeria, represente­d by the wife of Lagos State Governor, Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo- Olu stated that the training will equip women entreprene­urs with necessary skills and resources to compete favorably in the technology world.

The First Lady informed that training initiative which is partnershi­p with HUAWEI, corroborat­es the Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goal 5 that seeks to achieve gender equality, full participat­ion of women and equal opportunit­ies for leadership at all levels of decisionma­king.

According to her, “the Huawei Women in Tech Digital Training program is more than just a series of workshops; it is a symbol of the government’s commitment in bridging the gender divide in the digital world”

The First Lady said that technology enhances efficiency, facilitate­s innovation, and improves quality of life in addition to its potency in driving economic growth and providing solutions to global challenges, in the environmen­t, healthcare, governance, among other sectors.

She further reiterated that the Renewed Hope Initiative conceived by the present administra­tion at the federal level is poised to positively impact the lives of Nigerians by bringing individual­s out of poverty, educating them, and guiding them towards better lives for their families.

While congratula­ting all beneficiar­ies of the training programme across the South- West States, the Senator Tinubu urged the participan­ts to reaffirm their commitment towards creating a world where every woman has the opportunit­y to thrive and use technology as a catalyst for positive change.
