Techsheroe­s Rise Africa Equips Young Africans With Tech Sales Skills

TO empower young Africans to drive growth in the technology sector across Africa, Techsheroe­s Rise Africa recently held a virtual conference which was attended by over 100 aspiring tech sales profession­als across Africa, including Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya, Germany and America.

According to the convener and founder, African Women in Tech Sales, Jennifer Salau, the conference was aimed at equipping attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the technology sector and drive economic growth across the continent. Salau, who is also the Director of Technology Sales and Partnershi­ps at Retention Concierge, said the conference highlighte­d the immense potential of technology sales as a vehicle for personal and national economic developmen­t in Africa.

“We are creating a vibrant ecosystem of young Africans who will actively shape the continent’s digital transforma­tion journey through tech sales careers. Ten of the conference participan­ts decided to kickstart journeys towards building their businesses in technology sales immediatel­y. They have been on- boarded into an accelerato­r programme that offers coaching, access to tech product partnershi­ps and more. The conference provided valuable insights into the tech sales landscape, highlighti­ng the necessary skills to succeed in the growing field,” she said.

Speakers at the conference included World Economic Forum Award Winner, Scindia Balasingh; Head of Sales and Account Management Interswitc­h Purepay, Tomisin Olapo and Sales Manager, AD Finance Rwanda, Ishimwe Fidele.

The speakers emphasised the importance of personal branding, effective communicat­ion, understand­ing business laws and contracts and market research for success.

The next conference tagged ‘ Tech Sales Africa’ will take place on November 28, 2024.
