OMAWUMI isn't just a judge; she's a believer in kismet. She is celebrated for her powerful vocals and captivatin­g stage presence. The singer- songwriter and actress will bring her wealth of experience and expertise to the judging panel.

Having been a guest judge in season 7 of the show, Omawumi brings the value of her illustriou­s career; spanning over a decade, to bear in navigating the complexiti­es of the music industry with grace and excellence.

As a thorough bred musician, she is not only going to be strict, she will also bring honest criticism that she's known for, pulling no punches as she says, "there can only be one winner."

Recall that she gained attention as the 2007 runnerup on West African Idols, a reality TV show that is part of the Idols franchise. Her second album, The Lasso of Truth, was reported to be a commercial success. Her message to the contestant­s ( dreamers) is clear - true success requires relentless hard work.

Joining Omawumi is Ric Hassani, whose velvety voice and heartfelt lyrics have garnered him widespread acclaim both locally and internatio­nally. As the technical judge this season, Ric Hassani brings vigour, tenacity, and a fiery passion for good singing.

For him, self- awareness and the willingnes­s to learn and improve are some of the things it takes to win. With his innate understand­ing of melody and emotion, Ric's music resonates deeply with audiences, reflecting his commitment to authentici­ty and artistic integrity.

Completing the esteemed panel of judges is none other than Abolore Akande better known by the stage name 9ice, a trailblazi­ng artiste renowned for his masterful storytelli­ng and timeless hits in Yoruba language.

With a career spanning over two decades, 9ice has establishe­d himself as one of Nigeria's most influentia­l musicians, earning accolades for his innovation and creativity. As he takes on the role of a Nigerian Idol judge, he brings a wealth of knowledge and perspectiv­e to the table, offering contestant­s a glimpse into the intricacie­s of the music industry.

The show which will be broadcast at 7pm on all Africa Magic Channels – Showcase ( Dstv Channel. 151, Gotv channel 12), and Family ( Dstv channel 154, Gotv channel 2), will undoubtedl­y captivate audiences with its hilarious and electrifyi­ng performanc­es.
